Find the service you need
Whether you care for someone, work in a care home, or want dental advice without a trip to the surgery — start here.
Scanning, teledentistry and Silver Diamine Fluoride can be delivered by a suitably trained dental nurse.
They are especially valuable in care homes, where prevention can make a real difference to comfort, dignity and general wellbeing.
Help with dental pain
This Ora assistant for dental pain is based on the trusted Scottish Clinical Development Programme widely used during COVID. Updated March 2026.
It does not replace seeing a dentist, but it can offer useful guidance when you need help deciding what to do next. You may need a Google account to access Ora. The video link is on the teeth4life channel, and the podcast is on Spotify, DentalHealthService.
Ask the dental assistant for fast guidance, watch the video, or listen to the podcast.
Less than 10% of dental issues need a dentist. Empower nurses.
