GENERAL HEALTH
This was the headline from The Economist in spring 2024. It’s not new information; people have been dying prematurely in care homes due to avoidable aspiration pneumonia.

INNOVATIVE TOOTHBRUSH
I’m planning to trial this toothbrush and toothpaste in a care home. I purchased it a couple of years ago and use it myself. I believe it’s much easier to maneuver in someone else's mouth than any other brush on the market. |

GENERAL HEALTH
This video features me discussing the relationship between gum health and overall health outside a Banksy mural in Bristol. Over the years, I have sought to emphasize the importance of maintaining healthy gums through the Teeth4Life dental app. I often say that if you can keep your gums healthy, you’re likely to take care of your teeth as well. In fact, after the age of 25, you are more likely to lose your teeth due to gum disease than through tooth decay. |

MENTAL HEALTH
Traditionally, multitasking isn’t something we excel at, but the triple Bristol brush routine is so straightforward that it allows you to do something else at the same time—like relaxing. Regarding good oral hygiene, one thorough clean a day is better a couple of quick attempts. Ideally last thing at night. |

HEALTHY HABITS
We aim to encourage children to develop good habits early on, as it becomes progressively more challenging to change behaviors as we age. That’s why I always recommend an electric toothbrush to my patients; it helps build muscle memory, making it easier for others to clean their teeth if needed. I really appreciate the voice at the end of this video, and it’s a shame there aren’t more clips featuring her. |
