A replica denture is an exact copy of the denture you already wear — scanned, then 3D-printed in high-quality dental materials. Because it’s a digital prescription, like your glasses, it won’t distort over time, and you keep your original as a spare.
How it works
Seven steps, from scan to delivery. Most people never need to go without their denture along the way.
- Get your denture scanned
Use the DentalHealthService website to find a nearby scanner, and ask local practices about denture-scanning services and pricing. If you can’t find one, follow the scanning video and online instructions for a single-print denture.
- Present your clean denture
Take it to the practice, request the scan data file, and — for a premium denture — have your teeth and gum shades captured using dental Vita shades.
- Fill in your details
Complete the order form below and choose the type of replica service you need, including whether you’d like a denture ID.
- Make a payment and send the file
We check the scan is clinically suitable, then you’ll be able to track its progress.
- Your replica denture is sent to you
It’s an exact copy of your current denture, so a dental visit is unlikely — though occasionally one may be needed for a further fee.
- Instructions and care
Your new denture arrives dry; it needs moisture to gain suction. Water helps, and your saliva will do the rest over a little time. Care notes and video links are included.

Choose your denture
MonolithicPLA, an all-white test print
Made from PLA — a material widely used in medical devices. Useful as a temporary emergency denture, or as an aid to develop a better-fitting, better-biting denture the wearer can adapt to quickly. What normally takes four visits can be done in two.
Basic1-year guarantee
Higher-quality LDP (Lucitone digital print) resin, in two standard colours — a light pink base with white A3 (Vita shade) teeth.
Premium2-year guarantee
LDP with a wider choice of colours and a higher-quality cosmetic finish — four gum shades and twelve teeth shades.

Replica dentures — your questions answered
What is a replica denture?
An exact copy of the denture you provide to be scanned. Traditional methods use unstable dental materials that distort over time — a data file doesn’t. When you’re happy with your denture, get it scanned; like your glasses, it becomes a digital prescription.
What is a denture reline?
Over time the gums and bone shrink and dentures become loose. Traditionally, material is added to the base in the mouth, then sent away for a few days to fill the gaps. With 3D scanning you keep your original denture while a new one is made that fits better and looks fresher — and you keep the original as a spare.
Why are 3D prints better?
The traditional 50-year-old process is technique-sensitive, and adding new teeth to a copy of the gum changes the bite. 3D printing replicates both teeth and gum, so the fit and bite are identical. The Lucitone material used for the Basic and Premium is the optimum dental acrylic available; the all-white single print is used to test the fit before the final material.
Can it really be sent by post?
As a straight copy, current experience is that no adjustments are required. The dentures are identical — they just look cleaner and fresher. It’s an exact digital prescription, as used for your glasses.
What if it needs adjusting?
It’s very rare. In the unlikely event of a problem, you may be able to have it checked at the dental practice where your denture was scanned. Otherwise, please get in touch — your feedback helps us improve and expand the service.
Where can I get a scan?
Some dental practices are listed on our DentalHealthService website. Alternatively, look up a local practice and ask whether they have a dental scanner and what they’d charge to scan your denture. If they don’t scan dentures, there are instructions for the dental team on the DentalHealthService website.
How do I choose a colour?
Most dentists have the standard Vita shade guide for teeth, and some gum shades — A2 and B2 are the most common, and shade 1 is the lightest. You can choose lighter shades, but they can look less natural.
How do I pay?
Through this page, just like most online purchases. Instructions for uploading your denture data are included as part of the order.
What’s your refund policy?
If there’s an issue we can’t resolve, you can return the denture for a full refund, as long as you let us know within a week of receiving it.
