Dental Health Service
Promoting public prevention.
The Dental Health Service is a platform to help those who can’t help themselves — putting prevention first, empowering the whole dental team, and using the resource already in everyone’s pocket: their phone.
The DentalHealthService is here to help those who can’t help themselves. As trusted health advocates, the dental team can promote physical and mental health, diet and oral-health advice — using our existing resource, the mobile phone. Your dentist, in your pocket.
The vision
When I qualified, the advice was prevention first, treatment second — but the system pays for cure, not prevention. This platform aims to change that: a free service to the public at minimal cost to the profession, with no sponsorship from outside dentistry. We’ll have a membership, and charge those who benefit most, keeping it free for health advocates with little financial benefit.
No one works well under stress — a happy team is a healthy team. We need to take ownership of our profession, learn from our mistakes with a no-blame culture, and build something the public and the profession can both trust.

How to get involved
The video advice follows the government’s Delivering Better Oral Health toolkit. There’s a website at dentalhealthservice.co.uk, complemented by a new app built on the best of the teeth4life MVP plus behavioural science.
Early members get income from bolt-on services — teledentistry, remote treatment coordination, a 3D denture-printing service and more. Set up your own diverse study group, and we’ll all have a viable product before long. To get involved, or to help, please get in touch.
